Our Story

Diego and Sofía had lost faith in love. One weekend in England, separated by hundreds of miles, they both decided to give up on it. However, Sofía, always optimistic, decided to give it one last chance and sent Diego a voice message. Upon hearing it, Diego was captivated by her voice. They started chatting, and during their first date, Diego discovered that Sofía was direct, friendly, and above all, sincere. Sofía, for her part, noticed that Diego was kind, tender, and attractive.

By the end of that year, Sofía and Diego had separate plans for the holidays. She had bought tickets to travel to Europe with her family, while he was planning to drive… Guess where? Yes, Europe, from the UK to the Mediterranean. He proposed that instead of flying, she could join him on the road trip. He would drop her off with her family and continue on his route. It would take him a bit longer, but this way they could spend more time together. Sofía agreed. And so, they had their first trip together. Due to life circumstances, Sofía had to return to England before New Year’s. When she told Diego about the change of plans, deep down, she hoped he would ask her to spend New Year’s together, but he didn’t. Sofía felt a bit sad, but in the end, she thought it didn’t matter; if they didn’t spend New Year’s together, she’d be fine. However, just as she was about to board the plane and turn off her phone, Diego sent her a message… asking if she wanted to spend New Year’s with him. Without thinking twice and feeling overjoyed, she said yes, and that’s how they spent their first New Year together.

For months, Diego would drive for hours to see Sofía, as they were nearly 100 km apart, and Sofía would take two trains to visit him. Eventually, they decided to move in together, and a few months later, for their anniversary, Diego proposed a trip to Nice. The same destination that had brought them together on their first trip, but this time by plane. There, in front of the sea and with the most intense sun, Diego asked Sofía the question… if she wanted to marry him. She said yes.

On December 2, 2024, we said “I do”!

About Sofia

Sofia grew up by the seaside, even before she was born. She was born and raised in Lima. She had her first entrepreneurial venture at 4 years old, cleaning tables at her nursery school. She studied Law at the University of Lima and practised for two years to pay for her Marketing Bachelor’s degree, which she never finished as she started working in Marketing. After becoming a Marketing Manager, she decided it was time to get an academic qualification and obtained two scholarships to study at the University of Liverpool. In 2022, she graduated with a Master of Science in Marketing and worked hard to achieve her current position as a Marketing Executive. Her favourite colour is pink, and for a while, they called her “legally blonde”.

About Diego

Diego was born in Ushuaia, the southernmost city in the world. Since he was little, his grandfather called him the ‘disassembling engineer’ because he had the habit of taking apart everything he got his hands on, from toys to electronic devices, just to understand how they worked, and putting them back together as if nothing had happened. Diego was always passionate about numbers from a very young age, so much so that he participated consecutively for 8 years in national and international competitions during primary and secondary school. It came as no surprise to anyone when he decided to pursue industrial engineering at university. Before turning 30, in 2018, Diego made the decision to move to the other side of the world, specifically to England, in search of new professional challenges. He is a fan of Ferrari, and his favourite cartoon is Snoopy.
